GRADING SMART ART

HINT:  Allow Teacher and students 3 wks. to try Art for stronger Academics.  Smart Art uses the Highest level of thinking and enjoyment in Learning!

Two Goals in Smart Art :

1) When students CREATE they use the HIGHEST  level of thinking and EVERY LEVEL of thinking: that’s SMART ART!

60 YEARS OF RESEARCH behind BLOOMS TAXONOMY!

2. Students  re-discover their personal Multiple Intelligence(s )and Learning Styles strengths. This helps them pick the best Art Form for their Academics.   Both Surveys can be done in one class period.

  1. Multiple Intelligences: every human naturally excels in one or more intelligence(s). 15 min. survey: take this survey and discover https://www.literacynet.org/mi/assessment/findyourstrengths.html

Learning Styles: there four ways people learn information, usually dominate in two. In 15  reinforce strengths:http://www.educationplanner.org/students/self-assessments/learning-styles-quiz.shtml

Grading Smart Art is different but simply.  Use regular curriculum and Planning Sheet

  1.  Focus on subject content, NOT artistic talent.

  2.  Students choose their BEST Art form when they KNOW their personal strengths. (Survey’s A & B below guide students to their re-discover their personal strengths and  then choose their BEST Art form.)

  3.  For the first 3 weeks give passing grades but give fed-back.
